The Houston Ballet hosts the Nutcracker Market every year. This four day shopping spree has easily become a tradition in Houston, Texas. Merchants from all over the nation gather to support the Houston Ballet. This year, we are one of them!

Picture this: rows and rows of vendors, cheery red carpet, sparkled ornaments and Christmas lights glowing all around. No wonder the Nutcracker Market is such a big deal! Every year, thousands of people arrive to get some of their holiday shopping knocked out early. Jennifer N., who attended the Nutcracker Market last year, shares her experience on Yelp, “What I wasn’t expecting was there were WAY TOO MANY BOOTHS to cover in one day. Three miles over the course of six hours and still didn’t get to see every shop.” She also adds that she was able to rest at the bar and order a few drinks. (Phew!) At the end of the day, she left with some one-of-a-kind items as well as some inspiration for some DIY projects for home. In addition to shopping, some of the other special events include a preview party hosted by Wells Fargo, a Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Show and Luncheon, as well as a brunch with a fashion show by Macy’s.

Our suggestion? Wear comfortable shoes. Come hungry. Be adventurous. Samples of cakes, jams, and other holiday treats pop out at you from almost every vendor. Smiling faces greet you from all directions. This is a great way to start off the holiday season. The Nutcracker Market is a must-see in Houston.

If you’re coming by, make sure to say hello! We’d love to meet you.

I was there in 2012 and met the ladies running the booth and tried some brownies. It was fantastic!!! I wanted to contact them to see if they would be interested in getting a booth next to me at the houstonwomensexpo.com coming up in April 18 & 19. We could get a booth next to each other. I could put some bottles of your vanilla at my booth and you could put some pantry cans of brownies on your booth. We could send each other customers!!!
